The History of Kajiado Childrens home   Picture above - Mike Chester (centre), with Linda and Larry Rupp

In 1993, Mike Chester and Larry Rupp, co-founders of Kajiado Childrens Home, met in Kenya and began a fulfilling mission to care for street orphans. In 1995, the work began and the home was officially opened in 1997. Since then, God has continued to work through individuals, mission oriented organizations and churches around the world to provide the shelter, nutritional, educational and spiritual needs for these children. Many of the children who grew up in the home are now upstanding citizens who return to the home to mentor, tutor and show the children that their futures are promising if they work hard to attain a good education. .

The home is managed by Kenyan citizens who are dedicated to care for these children. Jason Lemooke is the Project Manager and oversees the day-to-day operation of the home. Jason has been a critical part of making the home a success with over ten years of administrative experience at Kajiado Childrens Home. After a three year absence, he returned to manage the home in October 2013. The home also is overseen by a Kenyan Management Committee and Board of Trustees, in addition to a Board of Directors in the US. This management struture ensures the integrity of Kajiado Childrens Home. Kajiado Childrens Home lies 70 km southwest of Nairobi and is home to more than 75 children who would otherwise be living on the streets.

Kajiado Childrens Home is funded through sponsorship and donations from caring individuals around the world. Won't you make a difference in the life of a child today? Afterall, God does not see orphans, only brothers and sisters in Christ. .
