Sponsoring a child provides for their shelter, medical, educational and spiritual needs. Children, brought to the home are typically malnourished and cannot communicate in English. Most of them have never had their own bed, or their own plate of food three times daily. It is a time of transition as they discover a new world. Our first focus is on their health, education, and identifying any specific needs. 

Losing parents is a sad time, but the other children at the home understand their sadness and quickly befriend them.  We hold classes to teach English so that they can attend the local primary schools. Children live at Kajiado Children’s Home until they graduate from their primary school. During that time, the Home covers all of their school fees and uniforms. Tutors work with them to do well in school and a period of each day is set aside to do homework. High School is a boarding school, and Kajiado Children’s Home continues to pay for their uniforms, boarding and school fees until they graduate. If they do well on their exams, there are higher education opportunities for them to pursue. Education is the key to a successful life, and several individuals who grew up in the home still return there to mentor and tutor the younger children.
